After oral administration, a small amount of it is absorbed, which creates a high level of antibiotic in the intestine, which gives excellent results in the treatment of intestinal diseases caused by gram-negative bacteria.

 The mechanism of action of colistin is to disrupt the phospholipids of the cytoplasmic membrane of the bacterium, as a result of which the permeability of the membrane changes. The drug has a wide spectrum of action. Active against Escherichia coli, Klebsiella spp., Enterobacter spp., Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Haemophilus spp., Brucella spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter spp., Citrobacter spp.

The drug is characterized by high bioavailability and low toxicity. It is excreted from the body mainly with feces and urine.

Colistin sulfate is supplied only in the original packaging of the manufacturer, weighing 20 kg net, in drums.

Shelf life - 3 years from the date of production.
