      The lack of vitamin A in the diet slows the growth and development of animals, disrupts the structure of the integumentary tissue - squamous epithelium.

      In humans and animals it disrupts the activities of the lacrimal gland, there is dryness of the cornea (xerophthalmia), softens and deteriorates the cornea (Keratomalacia) decreases, especially in the darkness and disappears vision (gemerolopiya). Disturbed regeneration and decay occurs epithelium of the skin (dermatitis), food channel (there colitis), respiratory tract (bronchitis appeared), the female vagina squamous epithelium (keratitis) and inflamed mucosa of the urinary tract (pielity, formed secondary kidney stones).

     Calves, pigs and chickens  are particularly susceptible for lack of vitamin A in animal feed.
